Opportunities in Afghanistan Construction, Infrastructure, and Logistics
MCLEAN, VA, March 24, 2010 --The Afghan-American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) announced today, that it will sponsor a groundbreaking event on April 15, 2010 on Construction, Infrastructure and Logistics in Afghanistan.
In order to help achieve the construction and logistical objectives in Afghanistan, the AACC in collaboration with the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., are hosting this one-day conference to inform industry about the opportunities and other aspects of doing business in Afghanistan.
“AACC’s Joint Symposium with NDU’s Near East South Asia Center in June was oversubscribed within three days of announcing that program,” said Mr. Sulaiman Lutfi, AACC Board Chairman, “and we anticipate that interest in AACC’s Construction, Infrastructure and Logistics Conference will likewise attract strong interest.”
“Indeed,” Mr. Lutfi added, “the Afghanistan construction industry was the largest contingent present at AACC’s 5th Annual Business Matchmaking Conference in October and U.S. construction industry interest was likewise strong. AACC is offering this focused 1-day program to highlight the opportunities and issues in this important segment of the Afghanistan marketplace.”
This Conference on Opportunities in Afghanistan Construction, Infrastructure and Logistics will cover the views and experiences of private sector firms and government officials involved in this vital sector and help attendees better understand how to secure and execute business in Afghanistan. The Conference presents a chance to harness professional engineers, architects and construction professionals of the Afghan community in the United States as well as non-Afghan American firms and partner those companies and professionals with Afghan and U.S. companies doing business in Afghanistan.
This event will be held at the National Defense University, Industrial College of the Armed Forces in the Main Auditorium located on 4th Street, Fort McNair in Washington, DC.
