Tuesday, July 14, 2009, AACC submitted a written testimony to the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Subcommittee on National Security, for a hearing on “U.S. Promotion of the Afghan Economy: Impediments and Opportunities”. AACC emphasized on the importance of the role of private sector in creating jobs and spurring economic growth in Afghanistan.

The AACC testimony provides important observations about the challenges faced by the Afghan and foreign investors in Afghanistan and also an insight on the policy issues that could help in resolving some of the major problems such as access to capital.
