Budget:The Budget Committee (BComm) Oversees the financial status of the organization in the present and projects financing needs for the future. BComm, led by the Treasurer, receives financial reports from the Executive Assistant and advises the President and the Executive Committee on a periodic basis as to the state of AACC’s finances and pending financial needs.
Development / Membership:The Committee (DevComm) is the primary AACC body responsible for raising sufficient funds to allow AACC to fulfill its operating needs, program and longer-term goals. DevComm members are active in generating strategy, tactics, procedures, marketing materials, etc. relevant to that task. DevComm applies similar capacity to increasing AACC membership at all levels. DevComm works closely with the Public Relations and Media Committee (MPR) in carrying out its duties. As a primary actor in developing AACC’s website, DevComm works not only with MPR but with key AACC members with requisite knowledge and understanding of the range of AACC history, policies and activities.
Government Relations:This Committee (GREL) is tasked with establishing contact, building relationships, conducting meetings, programs and events between relevant USG officials with responsibility for U.S. policies, programs and funding designated to achieve USG goals in Afghanistan. This means officials in the White house plus various agencies of the USG such as DoD, State, Agriculture, Commerce, USGS, USTDA, USTR, etc. whose responsibilities relate to private sector/business, trade, economic development and economic policy regarding Afghanistan.
Media and Public Relations: This Committee (MPR) designs the materials which highlight, advertise and market AACC capacities -- whether for materials sent by regular or electronic mail, banners and signs for the events themselves, or website postings calling attentions to various activities of AACC. MPR is responsible for website design and presentation of a multitude of content that wins over members, supporters and friends of AACC. MPR works in tandem with DevComm and the Executive Committee in carrying out its tasks.
Programs and Events: This Committee (P&E) is responsible for the logistics of event planning and execution, i.e., selecting venue appropriate to the AACC event, providing related catering, negotiating contracts with vendors, etc. P&E works closely with the EC and with the specific teams established by, or emerging from the EC or EC Plus deliberations regarding the specific event, program or activity requiring E&P services.
Strategic Planning: This Committee (SPL), in a formative stage, is envisioned to assist the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors in somewhat detailed, longer-term planning by suggesting and documenting specific targets for future AAC C budgets, programs, personnel, policies, etc. The EC and then the Board would review and decide on whether to make SPL projections the specific and public goals of the organization. SPL would also interact with DevComm and other Committees and Working Groups where and when relevant.
