The Working Group on Economic Governance is led by a prominent attorney, now AACC Board member who has had substantial experience as part of the pro-bono group of American lawyers who have focused on the Commercial Law, the Investment Law, etc. and other legal issues related to the economy. This group also has one of America’s best experts on property rights and development and was Hernando de Soto’s representative in the U.S. in this particular area. Major and small business, the legal tax-savvy community and government (ex-Ministerial level, current government officials participate as ex-officio) officials here and in Afghanistan are participating in this newly formed WG that will consider as its first task, Taxation and Corruption and build on previous AACC work and current Afghan and international investor and business community experience in the tax arena.
