Afghanistan Tourisim Investment Conference

The Afghan-American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) will hold a promotional event on the upcoming Tourism Investment Conference in Bamyan1; in Panjshir2; and in Kabul, May 23 to 29th, 2011. Click on Tourism Investment Conference to see the full package.

Please see below for detailed information of AACC-NVTC joint event at TeqCorner, 1616 Anderson Road, #100 in Mclean, Virginia to be held this coming Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

The Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) in collaboration with the USAID Office of Economic Growth (EGO) is working with AACC and NVTC to showcase the emergence of a major business opportunity, Tourism in Afghanistan and to stimulate business interests in the USA to work with potential Afghan business partners.

It is very important to note that the areas being promoted are, contrary to the overall media picture, not only spectacular in their physical beauty but completely safe and far away from the eastern border and southern conflict zones. Plus, the people in these areas are a peaceful, welcoming lot and would add immeasurably to the tourism experience in these areas. Those of us who have visited Panjshir and Bamyan can attest to the breathtaking beauty of these areas and the friendliness of the local people.

The May 23rd to 29th, first ever Tourism Investment  Conference in Afghanistan will feature special opportunities for new ventures in tourism infrastructure and specific tour opportunities for travel companies.  Visits to the top tourist locations in the two provinces and the City of Kabul are planned for both domestic and international investors. At present, both U.S. and UK companies have indicated that they will attend the conference. The more than 8 Afghan tourism companies currently operating in the country are also involved in this conference. More hospitality industry firms are expected, as AISA’s promotional efforts in the USA increase and its direct promotion to Afghan companies advances. Please go to the website of the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency, the lead sponsor of the conference in collaboration with USAID, www.aisa.org.af for additional information on this important event.

There has been close cooperation between the two provincial governments, the City of Kabul and USAID; these organizations are working in tandem in the effort to build on increasing numbers of domestic and international tourists visiting the prime tourist destinations in Afghanistan….which means the tourism business pump is being primed domestically as well as by international donor agencies.

The Afghan-American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) held a promotional event on the upcoming Tourism Investment Conference in Bamyan, Panjshir, and Kabul, May 23 to 29th, 2011. Click on Tourism Investment Conference to see the full package.
